Yalana has been weaving with Yellow Leaf for over 10 years. In that time she's been able to send both of her children to college and buy a house.

Eet is from the villages on the boarder with Laos, she and her husband have been weavers with our weaver project for 6 years. Eet says that she loves weaving and can't believe how it's changed her life.

In 2011, co-founder Joe hopped off a motorbike to have a nap in a colorful hammock. The mind-melting comfort he experienced led him to change his travel plans and take a taxicab ride 600 miles into the Thai jungle. He was determined to meet the skilled women who crafted such an incredible hammock–a decision that would soon change everything…

In their village, Joe learned about the mothers’ dreams to sell more hammocks and lift themselves out of poverty. Inspired, he returned home with a backpack full of hammocks and convinced his now-wife Rachel to join him on a mission to build a social enterprise and change the world…

The duo began by selling hammocks at fairs and festivals (literally out of the back of a Volkswagen), bootstrapping their crazy idea, backed by a growing circle of happy customers. Their hammocking adventures twisted and turned until they wound up on a little-known tv show called Shark Tank, where they captured the imagination of the Sharks and jumpstarted their vision of getting the whole world into a Yellow Leaf Hammock.
